The High Seas Fleet Badge was instituted on April 30,1941 by the Grand Admiral Eric h Raeder,and was conferred upon German personnel who served on the battleships and cruisers of the high seas fleet. Recipients were eligible for the badge after serving for a minimum 12 weeks on a high seas fleet vessel, provided that they rendered exceptional service and had a good conduct record. The Badge was designed by marine painter Adolf Bock. This is a late war zinc version in the good, worn condition marked on reverse "Fec.Adolf Bock" with "Ausf.Schwerin Berlin "underneath,measuring 42.59mm(w) x 55.21mm(h),weighing 25.1 grams.
