HERMAN GORING Commemorative Medal of the German Academy for Aeronautical Research, The miniature version.

On 21 January 1938,the same date as the founding of the German Academy for Aeronautical Research by Hermann Goring, a commemorative Medal was established. It was awarded to those persons, both German and non-German,who had made a significant contribution to the advancement of Aeronautical Research. The decoration came in two sizes large and small. The miniature version approximately measuring 56mm. high (with suspension),The badge in the form of a stylized eagle clutching a swastika (similar to that of the of the Luftwaffe Pilot's Badge),surrounded by an angular oakleaf wreath suspended from three oakleaves .The reverse of the miniature (Nadel)bore the manufacturers logo, serial number and silver content number, scarce Badge in the very good condition.
