Soviet Union. An Order of the Red Banner for Second-Time Recipient,s/n # 21266.
Instituted on 16 September 1918. Type IV. An oval badge in gilded silver, the obverse presenting a motif of the order consisting of a red enamelled banner, a red star, a hammer, plow, torch and bayonet on white enamelled field with a surrounding wreath, the banner reads (Workers of the world unite!), the small red enamelled ribbon at the bottom presents the Cyrillic letters (the USSR), below that a white enamelled shield bearing the number 2 indicating a second time winner, the reverse presents the mint mark in two lines and located at the lower centre, below that is the hand-engraved serial number 21266, measuring 36.42 mm (w) x 42.39 mm (h), on loop for suspension from five-sided metal suspension with red and white ribbon and a horizontal pinback, and in extremely fine condition, circa 1951-57.
