A HIAG Missing Persons Report for SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Georg Leitner.

Georg Leitner was born on 19 April 1912 in Austria-Hungary and served in the 16th Cavalry Regiment of the 8th SS Cavalry Division "Florian Geyer."He disappeared on 12th February 1945 during an attempt breakout from the siege of Budapest. The report was filled by a relative named Ursula Puppa.HIAG-mutual aid association of former Waffen-SS members, founded in 1951 was a veteran organization and lobby group trying to rehabilitate the SS legally. On federal level it was disbanded in 1992,yet smaller chapters continued to exist into the 21st century, trying to find some 40000 former SS members that were still missing.
