SS - Member's Runic Breast Insignia

(SS Brust Insignien).Constructed of field Grey wool,the obverse bearing Machine-embroided silver aluminum wire Sig runes,the reverse retaining an original black paper liner,measuring approximately 33mm(w) x 40mm(h),with two small patches of mouthing visible to the obverse wool,in very fine condition. Himmler ordered that only full members of the SS could wear the SS runes insigne on their uniforms. Because of the fact that many SS men were serving in units that did not utilize the runic collar insigne,an order was issued in July 1943 that created the breast version. Paragraph four stated: "Members of the SS who are entitled to wear the SS runes, but who are serving in a formation of the Waffen-SS with a special badge,or in the German Police, will wear the SS runes on the lower left breast."
