Extremely rare SS-Badge for Eastern Land Youth, As a rule, the Badges were made simply by printing on thin fabric. On May 27,1944,the Germans began recruiting fifteen-to twenty-year-old Youth from the "still occupied" Eastern lands to serve as so-called SS-Helfer(auxiliaries) or SS-Zoglinge(pupils).By September 20,1944, 21,417 boys and girls were recruited from Russia, White Russia, the Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. As a rule, they were employed as flak auxiliaries in Germany. Later recruiting was concentrated in Hungary. If the Waffen-SS hoped to secure these Youth as future replacements, it meant the complete abandonment of its earlier strict selection criteria. Badge in the excellent, mint condition.
