Proficiency Badge of the German Young People- the official designation of the badge,was instituted by von Schirach on 26 September 1935 to be awarded to boys between the ages of 10 and 14 who were members of the German Youth (DJ).A different degree of testing was required depending on the age of the boy. The Badge was not awarded until the recipient reached the age of 12. A single award in dull gray metal was presented upon successful testing in (A)general academics (B)-athletics, (C)-field exercises, (D)-shooting. Badge is measured 45mm(h) x 23mm(w),marked on reverse RZM M1/15 - Ferdinand Hoffstatter and (B)- athletics. A Miniature version measuring 22mm, and also marked on reverse RZM M1/120 - Wilhelm Deumer.
